It's championship time...

This past weekend, many collegiate conferences around the country held their championship track and field meets, the first step towards the NCAA track & field championships in Sacramento, California on June 6-9 (BTW, I have not forgotten about the NCAA division II & III & the NAIA).

For the die-hard college track fan, these next few weeks are the most exciting, with the addition of the regional championships the weekend of May 25-26 around the country, including the West Regionals in Eugene, Oregon. The premise of the regionals is simple--place in the top five, and you're on to the big dance in Sac-town!

And, two weeks after the NCAA's, the action moves to Indianapolis for the AT&T USA Outdoor Championships, the selection meet for the IAAF World Track & Field Championships in Osaka, Japan.

If you like championship track & field, you're in for a treat the next five weeks.

Like the Black Eyed Peas song, "Let's Get it Started!"
