It's Pac-10 weekend!

The headline says it all...the road to the NCAA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa starts this weekend for most of the major conferences around the country, including the Pac-10 Conference, which has its championship meet Friday and Saturday in Tempe, Arizona on the campus of Arizona State University.

Here are the press releases from the University of Washington, and Washington State University touting this weekend's meet. If you've followed this blog all season (or if you have stumbled upon this for the first time), the key athletes to watch for Washington are Jordan Boase (sprints), Norris Frederick (jumps), Katie Follett (1500), and Kelley DiVesta (pole vault). For the Cougars, it's Jeshua Anderson (400 hurdles), Jon Jeffreys (javelin), Ebba Jungmark (high jump), and Sara Trane (steeple).

Here's the release from the Pac-10, with a preview of athletes to watch on both the men's and women's sides...

The Eugene Register-Guard posted form charts for both the men's and women's competition. It's an interesting read on the form charts, which were compiled by John Auka (men), one of the statisticians for Track & Field News, and Tom Heinonen (women), the former UO women's coach.

If you want a national perspective of what's going on this weekend, here's a link to Track & Field News' super conference weekend, which has links to all the major meets happening around the country.

Oh yeah, if you like prep action, this weekend is the district meets throughout the state of Washington, and of course, the pros are at it, including Bernard Lagat, at the adidas Track Classic in Carson, California on Sunday.
