Video interview with Katie Flood & Justine Johnson...

As promised in our post earlier Saturday, here is a video interview with Katie Flood (left/photo by Paul Merca) and Justine Johnson of the University of Washington, as their 6-7 finish in the NCAA West Regional cross country championship meet in Springfield, Oregon led the Huskies to their third straight regional title.

Afterwards, UW coach Greg Metcalf said of the Huskies' performance, "The women coming here the goal was to automatically qualify. We've had success on this course. It went out like the last few Regionals, controlled through the first mile. Our team stayed in the right place. Katie and Justine, for two freshmen, they continue to run very confident and ran great to the finish line. Christine and Kailey battled and ran people down. Mel was a little tired today but she will be there at Nationals. Today we added some more momentum, now there's excitement; it's always fun to win cross country meets."

Here's how Katie and Justine saw the race:

NOTE:  In that earlier post, the University of Washington men's team was listed as eighth, when in fact they were sixth.  paulmerca.blogspot.com apologizes for the typing error, which was corrected when we arrived in Seattle.
