Numerous squads do the 'Cupid Shuffle' in latest USTFCCCA coaches' poll...

NEW ORLEANS--The results of last weekend's Wisconsin adidas Invitational (photo of UW's Lindsay Flanagan by Mike Scott) along with the Pre-Nationals in Louisville resulted in several teams doing their version of the Cupid Shuffle as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I poll was released Tuesday.

There was no change at the top in the women's poll as Florida State maintains its position after winning the Pre-Nationals in Louisville over a 37 team field.

Iowa State, the winner of the Wisconsin adidas meet moves to #2 after defeating 47 other squads last week in Madison.

Numbers 3-through-6 are all Pac-12 squads, led by Oregon at #3. Stanford at 4, Arizona in the five spot, and the Washington Huskies, who dropped to #6 after finishing fourth in Madison.

Colorado at #21 and UCLA at #24 are the two other Pac-12 teams ranked in the national women's poll.

On the men's side, Oklahoma State, coached by former Olympia prep standout Dave Smith, takes over the #1 spot, as previous #1 Wisconsin takes a deep drop all the way down to #20.

Three teams are in the men's top ten from the Pac-12--Colorado at #2, Stanford at #3, and Oregon at #8.

UCLA is ranked #15, the last Pac-12 team in the national top 30.  The University of Portland dropped to #17 from #5 in the poll.

For those not in the know, here's the Cupid Shuffle:

The main attention in Division I are the conference championship meets, which get underway on October 27th for the Pac-12.
