WEEKEND RECAP: Eagles run fourth fastest 4x4 time in school history; CWU's Keller rifles spear 222-5...
Here's a recap of what happened with the state's Division I and II teams over the weekend:
In Boise, Idaho, Eastern Washington's 4 x 400 meter relay squad of Brad Wall (left/photo courtesy Eastern Washington University), Kramer Green, Collin Green and Brad Michael ran a season best 3:12.44 at the All-Idaho Cup hosted by Boise State. It's the fourth fastest time in school history and ranks as the conference leader after this weekend's meets, nearly a second up on second-ranked Sacramento State at 3:13.37.
Jon Buchanan won the shot at 53-11 (16.43m), Vince Hamilton won the 5000 (14:50.70), Phil Puccino got the win in the triple jump (47-2.5/14.39m), and Katie Mahoney won the women's 1500 in 4:38.46.
At the Sam Adams Classic in Spokane hosted by Whitworth on Saturday, Gonzaga's distance crew battled the elements, running in less than ideal conditions.
Jordan McCann, Ned Fischer and Brent Felnagle earned victories for the Zags.
McCann won the women's 800 in 2:18.80, while Fischer won the 1500 in 3:55.71. Felnagle won the 5000 in 15:20.73.
Washington State sent several individuals to the meet, and got wins from Indigo Williams in the 100 and 200; Amanda Henderson in the 1500; Thane Pierson in the high jump, and PJ Benedictus in the triple jump.
In Salem, Oregon, Seattle University got five wins Saturday from its athletes at the Willamette Invitational in wet conditions.
Zach Stanfield was a double individual winner in the 100 (10.77) and 200 (21.51), and ran a leg on the victorious Redhawks' 4 x 100 meter relay that ran 41.91.
Dylan Burnett won the javelin with a solid throw fo 207-1.75 (63.13m), and Hannah Mittelstaedt won the steeple in 10:49.43.
Saint Martin's Joey Keeton won the pole vault with a jump of 13-5 3/4 (4.11m), as he was the only competitor to clear a height.

Western Washington, Central Washington, and Seattle Pacific stayed close to home, as they battled the elements and each other at the Shotwell Invitational hosted by the University of Puget Sound.
In the men's competition, Central Washington, led by javelin thrower Braden Keller's school record toss of 222-5 (67.79m), won the men's team title with a score of 166.5 points over Western Washington, who scored 145.5.
Pacific Lutheran was third at 118, followed by host UPS with 81, and Seattle Pacific at 64 points.
Keller's toss was easily the best mark of the entire competition, as he earned an auto qualifier to the NCAA Division II championships. Keller has the third best mark in NCAA Division II this season.
The women's team competition was won by Western Washington with 156, followed by Seattle Pacific at 131, then Central Washington at 89, with Pacific Lutheran with 85 and host Puget Sound fifth at 76.
In Auburn, Alabama, four time US Olympian Aretha Thurmond opened her 2013 season, as the University of Washington alum won the discus with a throw of 197-6 (60.20m) at the Auburn Tiger Track Classic on Saturday.
In Washington, DC, former Western Washington All-American Sarah Crouch, who now resides in North Carolina, finished ninth in the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run, part of USA Track & Field's USA Running Circuit.
Crouch ran 54:15 and earned $600 for her efforts, as Caroline Rotich of Kenya was the overall women's winner at 52:46.
Crouch was the third American finisher behind US Olympian Janet Bawcom, who was third overall in 53:28, and Brianne Nelson, who was seventh overall in 54:01.
