Abbott finished behind 2011 world championships bronze medalist Matthew Centrowitz, who ran 1:47.95.

Tacoma resident Matt Scherer, who competes for the Seattle based Brooks Beasts, took the field through the first 550 meters, before Abbott made a move on BYU's Ryan Waite.

Abbott held the lead but coming off the final turn, Centrowitz powered through and caught Abbott with about 60 meters left to take the win.

Former Spokane prep standout Britney Henry won the hammer throw.

Henry, an Oregon alum and a US Olympic Trials finalist last year, easily won, with a toss of 223-1 (68.00m), to outdistance second place finisher Jillian Weir of Oregon, who threw 197-3 (60.13m).

Former Washington state high school champ Dakarai Hightower won the men's high jump, clearing 7-1 (2.16m).

Former Bellingham prep standout Chris Kwiatkowski was seventh in the men's 3000, running 8:10.66, as Olympic 10k silver medalist Galen Rupp easily won in 7:46.34.
