McNamara gets second in 1500, while Abbott takes third in 800 in Lignano...

LIGNANO, Italy--Auburn-Riverside alum Jordan McNamara (left/photo by Paul Merca) finished second in the 1500 meter run Tuesday night at the Meeting Internazionale di Atletica Leggera.

McNamara, who set a personal best at this distance of 3:34.00 on July 6th in Oordegem, Belgium, ran 3:37.24, as he finished behind University of Minnesota alum Ben Blankenship, who ran 3:37.03 for the win.

Washington State alum Joe Abbott had his modest two-meet winning streak broken in the 800, as he finished third in 1:46.94 in his European circuit debut.

Recent University of Oregon grad Elijah Greer won in a time of 1:46.38, followed by Michael Rutt's 1:46.77.
