With Washington's nine NCAA Division I and II schools entering the start of championship season next weekend, this weekend is fairly light.

Seattle University will send essentially a B squad to Corvallis for Friday afternoon's Beaver Classic at Avery Park, as those runners will compete for the final spots on the Redhawks' travel squad for next week's WAC championship in McAllen, Texas.

In Ferndale, Western Washington will host the Viking Classic at Hovander Homestead Park Saturday, with Central Washington and Northwest University scheduled to participate, with the men running 7k and the women 5k, beginning at 10:30 am.

WWU coach Pee Wee Halsell said that the Vikings will use this meet to help finalize his squad for next week's GNAC championship.
