Ginnie Crawford continues comeback with second place finish at TrackTown Classic...

EDMONTON, Alberta—Rainier Beach HS grad Ginnie Crawford (left/photo by Kirby Lee, Image of Sport) who was out of competition for the last year and a half with a knee issue, continued her comeback with a second place finish at the TrackTown Classic Sunday at Foote Field.

Crawford ran 12.95, as Central Florida alum Jackie Coward won in a time of 12.88.  Idaho alum and former UW volunteer assistant coach Christie Gordon was seventh in 13.16.

Washington alum Brad Walker was third in the pole vault, clearing a best of 18-2.5 (5.55m), as Canadian Shawn Barber, who won the NCAA outdoor title for the University of Akron, won with a meet record leap of 19-0.25 (5.80m).

Mark Wieczorek of the Seattle-based Brooks Beasts, who failed to make the finals of the USA outdoor championships in Eugene two weeks ago, finished third in the 800, running 1:46.73, as former US champ Duane Solomon won in 1:46.13.  Reigning USA national champ Nick Symmonds of the Brooks Beasts was fifth in 1:47.53.

In the women’s 800, Megan Malasarte of the Brooks Beasts finished fourth in 2:03.86 in a race won by American Maggie Vessey in a meet record 2:00.16.

Seattle’s Phoebe Wright was eighth in 2:04.27, and recent Washington State grad Abby Regan was tenth in 2:06.73.
