Mackey and Winger entered in Stockholm Diamond League meet Thursday night...

STOCKHOLM, Sweden—Both Washington alum Katie Mackey (left/photo by Paul Merca) and Vancouver native Kara Winger are entered in Thursday night’s Stockholm Bauhaus Athletics meeting at the Olympic Stadium, the twelfth stop on the IAAF Diamond League tour, and the final opportunity to earn points to compete in the final two Diamond League meets in Zurich and Brussels.

Mackey is entered in the women’s 3000, where she will be in a field that includes Bahrain’s Mimi Belete, and US 10000m champ Molly Huddle.

Winger, who won a sliver medal last week at the Pan Am Games in Toronto, will throw the javelin against a field that includes the top four in the current Diamond League standings in the event—reigning Olympic champ Barbora Spotakova of the Czech Republic; Sunette Viljoen of South Africa; Madara Palameika of Latvia; and Marharyta Dorozhon of Israel.

After Thursday's meet, the Diamond League goes on hiatus until after the world championships in Beijing.
