Small group heads north for Wednesday night's Harry Jerome Track Classic...

A small group of athletes with Washington ties are competing across the border in Wednesday night’s Harry Jerome Track Classic at Percy Perry Stadium in the Vancouver suburb of Coquitlam starting at 6:20 pm.

Auburn/Riverside HS alum Jordan McNamara (left/photo by Paul Merca) will contest the men’s 1500 meters a few days after finishing sixth in the USATF outdoor championships. He will be joined by Washington alum Izaic Yorks and Travis Burkstrand of the Brooks Beasts.

In the women’s 1500, Washington alum Eleanor Fulton looks to bounce back after finishing twelfth in the national championship race last Saturday at that distance.  Former Husky teammate Baylee Mires will be helping set the pace for the field.

Brannon Kidder of the Brooks Beasts is entered in the men’s 800. Former Issaquah standout Katie Burnett is entered in the co-ed one mile race walk, while Husky alum Kyle Nielsen makes the short drive to Coquitlam from his hometown of Langley to throw the javelin as he prepares for next week’s Canadian national championships.
